Where to stay in Palm Springs

I finally think I have stayed in Palm Springs enough to put together a list of my favorite places to stay for you.

I love Palm Springs for a few reasons.

1.     It’s close to my house

2.     It’s always warm and sunny

3.     Everyone’s bedtime is around 9pm

4.     Happy Hour starts earlier

5.     The overall vibe is very mellow and relaxing (unless you go during Coachella & Stagecoach, then it’s just madness)

Whether you leave from San Diego or Orange County it only takes about two hours to get there. The drive always feels quick and easy and there is even a fun place to stop and take a quick photo of some dinosaur friends.

Whether you like to stay in boutique style or more mainstream hotel chains, I have compiled a list for you to check out below!

Let’s start with The Ace Hotel

– I would say this is your typical boutique style hotel in palm springs. Everyone knows it for its ultra-hip decor and wildly popular interior designs I’m sure you’ve seen spread across Instagram. I have personally always wanted to stay here because of said above things. I was not disappointed by my stay, they had everything I needed peace and quiet, mixed with a bar and some sunshine.

2.     The Saguaro

Ah, another Instagram favorite. This hotel has all the colors of the rainbow splashed everywhere the eye can see. I personally love this place and would stay here over and over again. I love the colors and the scenery of this place. You can never take a bad photo here either!

3.     La Serna Villas

I like to think of this one as my hidden gem. It’s 21 and over and is literally an oasis in the desert. I found it over the top in all the right ways. You get breakfast delivered to you every morning in the sweetest picnic basket and you have your own personal bathtub right out side. I loved this more than anything, I so enjoy being in the tub and what better way to enjoy it under the stars.

11/10 stars with out a doubt.

4.     The Westin

This would be your typical “corporate” hotel. This property was hugely magnificent. It even had a Starbucks on site for you! If you’re into golf there is a lovely golf course for you to play on or you can take a dip in the swimming pool.

5.      Miramonte Resort & Spa

Again, another larger hotel for you. I enjoyed a long day by the pool here and Happy Hour starts at 2 and runs all the way till 6pm!

6.     Arrive Hotel

This is another boutique favorite. I love’d the coziness of Arrive. Each little room felt like its own space. I love that you get a patio in front of your room if you stay on the bottom floor, it comes with a fire-pit too! I also throughly enjoyed the donut shop right next store as well as the ice cream place.

Crouching Lion Hike

I think this hike tops the Pillbox Hike. The view alone was over the top.

I initially found this hike on Instagram (of course) and thought the views were so pretty so I quickly added it to my list of things to do. I read that it was fairly easy and wouldn’t take all day so I was all for it!

I did also read that this hike was really dangerous and it should only be done by advanced hikers. We almost didn’t get to it because we started to second guess ourselves. But I want to say I think what I read online is only half true.

One) It is really dangerous in a sense that you are scaling a cliff essentially, so it’s very steep and there is a section or two that you are on the edge of the cliff. SO yes, it’s dangerous.

Two) I wouldn’t exactly say It’s for advanced hikers because for one person in our group it was his first hike ever and he did just fine & I am nowhere near an advanced hiker and well, I survived just fine.

This hike was also easy to find and not overly filled with tourist.

Once you park in the designated parking spots (you’ll see it on the side of the road). You can cross the road and start on the trial.  You will also see some signs that say trail closed or do not enter. We just walked past those but up to you if you want to continue.

You will have to climb over a fallen tree and after that you will begin the trail up. The trail starts off right away going up. The first about 10 minutes are still walking through the foliage, so it’s not too bad. There is a rope to help you get to the top, you can use it if need be.

Make sure to pack a lot of water and wear some comfortable shoes.

Once you get to the first look out is where it gets tricky. This is the part you need to be extra careful of your footing. We got some wise advice from a local – “don’t go on a hike after it’s rained” I would highly take this advice if you plan on going on this hike. I could see how this would get really slippery and become quite dangerous.

This part of the hike is the part that is on the edge. You go under a large rock to get to the top of the lions head. To be honest, I still can’t see the lions head in all this, so I am not sure why they called it “Crouching Lion”

Trying to look at how far up we, good thing I am not afraid of heights! I do recommend though, if you are skeptical of heights, you might want to pass on this hike.

This is the top of the hike. The views were so worth the hike and the heights! Overall it wasn’t that bad of a hike.

Now, you can keep going further up and that is a way longer and more intense hike. I would highly recommend doing some research on the longer trail. It looked really intense and I wouldn’t reccomend going if you don’t know what you are getting into.

What to do in Oahu.

1. Take a stroll through Waikiki

-This isn’t something that I would put on the top of my list, but I feel like everyone needs to go to see Waikiki. It’s a super touristy spot but has some of the greatest spots for food, drinks and of course plenty of hotel options.

2.    Go on a Hike

 – The Ehukai Pillbox Hike- North Shore 1.6 miles round trip

– I love that one you totally have to do this one when you come here. It’s easy enough for the whole family to do this one and the views are amazing! You can see more about this hike here.

Crouching Lion Hike – 2 miles round trip (short distance trail)

-This hike is a bit more advanced. I only say that because it’s all uphill and gets really narrow on the top. I wouldn’t recommend little ones going on this hike. The views are unquestionably stunning and well worth the trek, read more here

-Manoa Falls Trial – 1.5 miles round trip

– This one is more of a trail, not a hike. This is suitable for any age. This path leads you to a waterfall that is really pretty. This one is open from 8am-4pm and costs $5.00 to get in. I would say though, this was my least favorite “hike” it was overly filled with tourist and the waterfall was quite disappointing. However, if you have little ones this would be a great thing to do!

Apparently, there is another hike that is more advanced and will take you to the top of the waterfall and has an infinity pool where you can swim and take some cool photos in. This is a different trail and you have to take it from the beginning of the hike, not after you get to the falls like we thought we could.

3.    See the Byodo Temple – $5.00 cash only

– I like coming here because it reminds me of all the temples we saw in Japan. This is a nice spot to take the family and enjoy the day. This is a nice spot to have lunch or just walk around for a bit and kill some time.

4.    Go to The Sunrise Shack

– This is located in the North and is Locally owned. You might miss it if you’re going to fast, this is defiantly a spot you’ll want to stop by though! They sell bulletproof coffee and some yummy fruit bowls! Everything about this spot is Instagram worthy as well!

5. See the North Shore

– This is where you’ll see larger than life-waves. You can feel the pure power behind mother nature just by sitting on the beach and watching the waves roll in.

6. Eat at the Pupukea Grill

– This is on the North Shore too. This is a great spot to grab some lunch and you can a) sit in the little area they have for you or b) take it to go and find a beach and enjoy the sun! Either way, this food is filling and fresh! I got the Doner Kebab and it was so good!

7. Watch sunset at the China Walls

– This was a great spot to end the day and watch the sunset. The sun falls directly in front of you with no obstructing views and is a perfect place to bring some drinks and snacks. It’s just a short walk from a residential area so parking is easy, just be mindful of parking in front of someone’s home. Plenty of people come and watch the sunset here it’s very beautiful!

8. Picnic at China Mans Hat

– How cute is this spot. This would be a perfect spot to grab some lunch, shoot even some dinner and take in the views! This is easy to find, just type in china mans hat in google maps!

Palm Springs – La Serena Villas

Took my first trip of 2018 and a different travel buddy this time!

Sydney and I stayed at the La Serena Villas in Palm Springs. It was beyond relaxing and serene. I felt like we had the whole place to our self’s!

This hotel is so special in many ways, there are only 18 rooms and each one comes with an outside bathtub and fire pit, how perfect is that!

It was originally built in 1933 and sits in within walking distance of Palm Canyon Drive, where you can find many local shops and restaurants. If you don’t want to venture too far off the property La Serena has a wonderful restaurant called ‘Azucar’ which is right by the pool so you can sit and enjoy the sun and some bites. OR even better just have the food delivered to you in your room! We had breakfast sent to us each morning in a cute picnic basket!

At night enjoy the sunset in their upstairs lounge with your favorite drinks! We saw the prettiest sunset while enjoying our wine and trying not to look like complete weirdos with our tripod. Hahaha

Even though it was built in 1933 is has since been updated and trust me its comparable to a 5-Star hotel. I especially loved that about this property, every corner of this hotel had something special to offer.

I love properties like this, they make it so easy to take photos. Every spot you look at is photogenic. Makes my job easy 🙂

I had so much fun lounging in the sun and enjoying a few drinks by the pool! I can’t wait to see what other trips 2018 has to offer me!

I love these bath tub picture because they are probably an ‘Instagram photographers’ nightmare. WHY? you ask, let me tell you!

1. They are not in focus

2. Just look at that floor! It is a MESS!

3. Probably more I can’t even see.

But that’s why I like them, they are messy and they perfectly describes our situation trying to take these photos. I’m pretty sure both of our backs were sore from trying to sit upright and not slip and fall into the tub.

Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland, Ohio. Home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum…

Bet you didn’t see that coming, yeah me either. You’re also probably asking yourself why the hell is that there? I asked that too, don’t worry, I’ll tell you… eventually. You just have to read all this first 😉 I know you will just skip to the end to find out why the museum is in Cleveland, but I’m going to tell you about my trip anyways!

To begin, upon Landing in “The Land” I saw one of the most stunning sunsets in a long time. The sky was a dreamily pink and purple perfect “cotton candy sky.” I knew this was going to be a good trip if this is how it was going to start off! The weather was cold, but not too cold. Coming straight from New York, I think I had some time to get used to the cold. We hopped in our Uber from the airport and took off to our hotel. We stayed at the Kimpton Schofield Hotel.

Side note, I love staying at the Kimptons, they have done so much for us and we have stayed in so many I always feel like I am staying at my home away from home. PLUS, they have a ‘social hour’ from 5-6 every night with wine and light snacks, like how cool is that! You get to socialize with real people during this hour and not your phone! I mean you could just drink the wine and be on your phone, but that’s not the point of this. The point is to eat, drink and be merry J

Anyways, back to Cleveland and to WHY we were there in the first place. You guys all know, or most of you know anyways that Casey was on tour for about two years with Machine Gun Kelly taking photos and just documenting every part of his life basically. While Casey was on tour a lot of times, I would come see him and go to the shows and get to experience a bit of what he did on the road. It was why I got to travel a lot in the earlier days. I also worked for an airline for a bit too, so that’s how I could see him quite often… anyways I am getting off track. We came to Cleveland to see Machine Gun Kelly play his first SOLD OUT Arena show (with him as the headliner)! Kells (what most people call him) is from Cleveland so that’s why the show was there. We came out to show our support for him, the band and of course for Casey to get some epic pictures! They played their freaking hearts out, I swear if you have never seen Kells preform before it is pure entertainment. He gets the crowd going! I remember watching him perform at KAABOO this year and listening to the older crowd say, “who is this fella, I like him!” It is so amazing to see him blossom into this amazing performer and see everything that he has accomplished in the last few years. He also has a pretty cool fan base, it was cool to see everyone sing along and just dance their hearts out. Even when he would talk about some hard times he has had in his life, I noticed a few girls just crying right along with him. I think it’s so amazing that he’s created a community where his fans can feel so connected to him. I’m so so so glad we got to come out to see him and experience this with him and the band and also everyone who has helped him along the way.

Aside from seeing the concert, we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sorry, you’re going to have to keep reading if you want to know why it’s in Cleveland. ;p I was especially excited about seeing this. I love learning about things, just like Kylie Jenner loves realizing things.

I’ll give you a brief rundown on the museum, the rest I’ll leave up to you to go see.

Basically, if you’re cool you get in, if not you have to wait till someone thinks you’re cool, usually, by then it’s too late.  JUST KIDDING, that was rude!!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was born in 1983 after the leaders in the music industry came together to help recognize the contributions that many people have made to Rock and Roll to make it what it is today.

Most performers are allowed to be inducted into the museum 25 YEARS after the release of their first recording. So, there was, of course, The Beatles, Elvis, The Beach Boys and Led Zeppelin. The Classics that you would assume would be in there, even some that you wouldn’t expect like Bob Marley.

I personally liked the Elvis exhibit the best. I only know a small bit about Elvis, just that he can move his hips and he’s a hunk-hunk-hunk of burning love. After watching a quick video about the king, I felt like needed to know more about him. I could see his full evolution leading to a downhill spiral in that quick video, it was depressing and intriguing all at the same time.

However, I was quickly distracted by the fact that we had a whole other museum to check out still. You don’t really stop and think about all the influences that people had on one another back then. It’s cool to see how bands performed and dressed and to see that’s how we dress now and how a lot of our current music is influenced by musicians such as James Brown and Ray Charles.

Even our fashion is influenced by music. I loved seeing all the actual outfits that many artists actually wore. I tried to image what they were doing in that outfit (aside from performing, weird, I know ha-ha). But it’s so cool to see that up close!

Madonna's top from 1993- Looks like something from Free People now
Madonna’s top from 1993- Looks like something from Free People now

There was so much to see here, we spent a good few hours in the Museum just learning different things about our favorite performers and fun facts, WHICH LEADS ME TO IT! You want to know why the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland, Ohio?!!

I’LL TELL YOU: ALL BECAUSE of a man named Alan Freed, a disc jock (aka DJ for you young folks) coined the term Rock and Roll and guess where he is lives, CLEVELAND OHIO. SO that is why it is there. Glad you read all this for that huh!?! J (I am ha thanks for reading, even though I know you skipped to this part)

It’s a good place to spend a few hours with the kids and make them learn real music so that we can have it back in the world, please, I beg of you! I’m tired of all this DJ stuff! 🙂

BUT ANYWAYS, ONE other thing that we got to do in Cleveland was PLAY IN THE SNOW! I know, I know, it’s not really a big deal. WELL when you live in California and think hail is snow, then yes, it’s a big deal. I was expecting snow in New York but never got that! So, this was great! Great until I realized how freaking cold snow really is. I was not prepared for it. I had a big warm jacket and some ear muffs to keep me warm but that only goes so far! I bought gloves from Wally world thinking these should be fineeee. YEAH NO. APPARENTLY, snow melts and makes your hands wet, even with my gloves which I now realized were not waterproof, so thank god, I came back with all my fingers intact 🙂 because it was cold AF.

Cleveland was a pretty city and I am glad I got to experience it all at its finest. I don’t think I will go back, but you never know I said the same thing about Japan and now I am considering going back again.

So, THANK YOU CLEVELAND AND GOOD NIGHT! (Insert Rock and Roll hand emoji)

New York City

The good ol’ Big Apple, The Big City, The Melting Pot…or more commonly known as New York City. The big buildings, bright lights and the constant hustle and bustle of nonstop moving people. This city is ever growing and constantly changing, which is the magic of it all.

I feel like every time I come to New York something is new and of course some things never change, like the fact that stop lights are mere suggestions for pedestrians and drivers.

NY Tip: You don’t always have to stop and wait for the walk sign to come on. Just don’t die and you’re fine to cross.

But aside from playing frogger to cross the street there are many things to do and see like of course eat, drink, people watch and eat some more. Since we only had a few days in New York I tried to jam in as much as I could. Casey had some meetings to attend to so I had some time to wander around by myself. Being alone in a big city sounded intimating at first but once I walked outside and realized that I had google maps and a phone so, I got over my fear really quick (ha-ha). Luckily, our hotel was close to a lot of things that I could walk to like Central Park, Times Square and Bryant Park. We also were in New York around the holidays so there were some extra things around the city that I could look at.

I don’t mind wandering around by myself most times, it’s always a time for me to pay attention to my surroundings and try to figure things out on my own. Plus being my size (child sized) I always feel like I have a higher risk of getting kidnaped or something when I am on my own, so I try to keep my eyes open and ears peeled.

While I was walking around I found a few key spots that I think everyone needs to visit, whether you are here during the holidays or walking alone through the city.

  1. Central Park – This is for sure a staple in New York. Central Park is huge and is right smack in the middle of New York, so you really can’t miss it. It’s just up to you if you want to see the north part of the park or stay more south of the park, which is closer to Times Square and more touristy places. Since it was the holidays they set up a cute holiday shop to walk around and grab some handmade gifts and hot chocolate.
  2. Of Course – TIMES SQUARE – I mean this is a no-brainer. I personally like Times Square at night with all the lights but even during the day it’s a show. They have now included a platform of stairs for you conveniently people watch. I would grab a pretzel and take a seat!
  3. Bryant Park –  Usually during the year, this park is full of green grass and free activities. However, when we came it was filled with an Ice skating rink, one tall Christmas tree and a mini north pole like village. It was magical, so perfect for grabbing a cup of coco made my Mrs. Clause and watch the kiddos ice skate.
  4. Rockefeller Center– Rockefeller Center is actually my favorite building to see the city views, you get a clear unobstructed view of New York City. The Empire State building is a good one to see the views from too, however, they have more of a caged view, they put huge iron rods around the edge so you don’t fall over, respectable but still it’s in the way of my views!
  5. Empire State Building– regardless of the views you still have to check it out. However, quick tip for both buildings, get your tickets before you go.
  6. Get some food at a food cart– Just part of the New York experience.
  7. Radio City Music Hall – This looks better at night to me too. There is a lot you can see here like the famous Radio City Rockettes or a concert. Just check the website and grab some tickets before you go!

During Christmas time:

  1. Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony– So many people come out to start the Holiday season with this magnificent tree lighting show.
  2. Bryant Park – Like I said above they have ice skating and a Christmas tree too!
  3. Holiday Market– Located right in the bottom left corner of Central Park is multiple holiday shops you can take a look at and get some crafty Christmas gifts.
  4. Dyker Heights – Okay, this is something I would have never known about unless I lived in NY. This neighborhood is located in Brooklyn so you will have to either uber or take the subway to see this (and once again this is only out during the holidays). If you look up Dyker Heights, Brooklyn on Instagram in the Geotags you can find exactly how to get there or check the map below J I highly recommend this it’s fun for the whole family, the city has it safely blocked off and plenty of hot coco stands around to keep you warm.
  5. Lotte New York Palace– This place has a really pretty Christmas tree, it was pretty empty when we went so it made it perfect for taking our photos.
  6. Saks Fifth Avenue Lights– Saks puts on a magnificent display of lights during the holidays.  The light display is also right by the Rockefeller Ice Skating rink so you get a two for one Holiday lights overload.
  7. Walk from 5th Avenue from Rockefeller Center to Central Park you get to see all these things along the way:
    1. All the window displays from Tiffany’s, Bergdorf’s, Saks, Barneys and Bloomingdales.
    2. The Courtyard of the Palace Hotel- aka Lotte New York Palace with the Christmas Tree.
    3. The Lobby of the Plaza Hotel – anyone else remember Eloise at The Plaza?
    4. And of course, the Ice Skating rink at the Rockefeller Center.

This list really goes on and on, I had so many other places I wanted to check out like Black Tap and of course those crazy rainbow bagels, but I can save that for next time! Don’t forget to leave a comment on your favorite place in New York!

Houston, Tx

Houston, to be honest, wasn’t a place I thought I would ever see. It’s not really on my list of places to go nor did I have the desire to go.

But when Casey mentioned he had to go there for work I thought that could be fun, let’s give Houston a try!

Well, I sure am glad I did! Houston was a beautiful city, a mix between San Diego and Los Angeles. The city of Houston was a lot slower than I expected, which is okay with me! Now, don’t get me wrong I love the hustle and bustle of a city but sometimes you just want a mellower New York City vibe.

I think we came at the perfect time too, the city was still riding strong from the historical win in baseball and all the overwhelming love and support from hurricane Harvey. Plus, the weather was cold but still completely bearable for a California kid.

Aside from checking the weather I always try to find some spots that we can visit and of course take photos.  I always try to learn something new about a place we are about to visit, that way I don’t completely feel like a tourist. I try to find things that are close to our hotel or further out depending on how much time we have. Usually, when Casey and I travel, we don’t have that much time to do things, so it’s best if I can find spots that are close to our hotel or where ever we have to be. Although this time I couldn’t find much that was around our hotel or really much of anything to see in Houston, you can only Google and look at Pinterest so much (ha-ha). Nonetheless, we did manage to find some spots I think you should check out on your next visit!

First and foremost, FOOD I love trying new food spots and seeing what the locals tend to eat.

We tried a few spots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Moonshiners, to be honest, we ate at twice, it was that good. First, go around I had the chicken and waffles and let me tell you, it was damn good. The waffles were perfectly fluffy and the jelly they put on the top, oh my god, it’s like grandma was back there making it by hand with love.

The second time I had the grilled cheese sandwich, it was okay. I just couldn’t get over the chicken and waffles, that was worth all the calories in the world.

The Flying saucer was so cool to see! They had so many ‘saucers’ on the wall.  I actually thought this place was cool, I am big fan of Aliens hah so if you join the club on the website it looks like you joined an alien club (ha-ha) hence the “saucers”

We also enjoyed a Mexican place called ‘Batanga’ that served Tapas and drinks. That was a great place to sit and enjoy with the family. They serve single dish appetizers that you can share with the family. This was a great spot to grab a snack since we weren’t that hungry at the time.

For breakfast, we ate at The Honeymoon, it was a cute café that played great music! They also served really good lattes and teas.

Since we didn’t have too much time to wander around all of Houston, we had to stick to some local spots to entertain us while we had some free time away from the festival. I usually pull up google maps to see what is in my surrounding areas (sometimes they even show you the best picture spots). I found this park that is called the Market Square Park, it was a small park where you can just sit and enjoy your coffee and watch the dogs play. I love people watching so this was fun for me (hahaha)

But if you need a bit more excitement than that, Houston is known for the NASA Space Museum, so that is another option as well. Unfortunately, we did not have the time to make it down there. I highly suggest you put that on the list though and buy the tickets in advance.

There is also the festival we went too. This is a fairly new festival and only happens once a year so you can think about doing it for 2018! This is the whole reason that we can to Houston, was for the Day from Night Festival. I have never been to a festival before so I was excited to go to one!

However, what I didn’t know, was that this festival was a bit different from something like say Coachella. I mean different in a good way too. To start the festival was inside so that meant it wasn’t going to be too big, so goodbye to running from stage to stage to not miss your favorite band. Every stage was close together so you don’t have to worry about planning your whole day out just so you can see everyone.

Day from Night also has really amazing art installations that you can check out during the shows too. I really had no idea what to expect during this, so I didn’t know that there was art to check out too! One thing that I did not see coming was that this whole building that this festival is in, is completely dark! The art is different lasers and light shows, that’s something I have not seen before. I think my favorite display was seeing these disco balls hanging in a net with lights shining on them causing them to light up all over the place. They had other installments that were pretty cool too!

The line up was pretty interesting this year, honestly I feel so old haha I only have heard of two of the performers, Cardi B and Nine Inch Nails, everyone else I was like oooh yeahhhh, I think I know them? I would recommend checking out the website here for tickets and information about next year! Even though this was only the 3rd year of this festival it was really popular and I think it will only get bigger in the next coming years!

I think Houston overall as won my heart and I will be back to see the NASA Space Museum!

Miami, Art Basel

Okay, if you didn’t sing “Welcome to Miami” from back in the day when reading that title, you’re not old enough to read this.

HAHA Just Kidding.

After our trip to Jamaica, we made a quick stop to Miami. I haven’t been to Maimi since I was in high school, which was many moons ago and I don’t think Art Basel was a thing back then, or maybe it was because honestly, I have never heard of Art Basel before.

To be honest tho, we got to Miami before the actual even started, so we missed most of the parties and events. But I did get to see a lot of the exhibits being put up! Which lead to a lot of confusion on what all this artwork was, but I was having a grand time trying to figure out why there were white and gold elephants all over the beach, it was great.

I GUESS what Art Basel is, is  a reason for really rich people to come together and create art or just buy it since buying is what they are really good at. LOL JK.

Art Basel is actually a place to show modern and contemporary art in Basel, Maimi South Beach. There is also an event in Hong Kong. They are always expanding and bringing out new artists. It’s something I will try to make it out to every year now. I like the thought of just being inspired by new art every year. I like that the art is not just limited to fine painting but it’s graffiti and random mirrored poles stuck in the sand. It makes you think like WTF is this. I don’t know, but it’s making me think.

If you want to learn more with check out there site HERE

We didn’t stay too long here, so I don’t have too much to say expect that you should go to Art Basel next year so I look like I know more people there.

Sandals South Coast, Jamaica

I’m pretty convinced that we just ate our way through Jamaica after looking at all these photos, but I mean hey, can you blame us? It was all inclusive!

We just spent a few days in South Coast, Jamaica. It was so pretty and beyond anything that I was expecting. It took us roughly about 9 hours to get there from LAX, one red-eye flight to NYC and another 3 and half hour flight from NYC to MBJ (for those of you who don’t speak airport code, that is Montego Bay) followed by one long car ride, which was basically a two-lane windy road (something that gives me pure anxiety ha-ha-ha).

After the long travels, we finally get to our much-anticipated Villa, and when I mean much anticipated I mean MUCH ANTICIPATED. We have been waiting months for these to open and enjoy all of what Sandals has to offer! I have been making mood boards like crazy for this trip, I knew this was going to be something that was really memorable, so I wanted to collect as many photos as I could. This place made it so easy with all the pretty ocean backdrops and of course our amazing room! I was ready for this!

However, since we were only there for a short amount of time we honestly didn’t leave the hotel, I know what you’re thinking, you didn’t even explore?!

Few things about that, one, we were out there specifically to “work,” Sandals contacted Casey to create content for the Villas, they are brand new and needed some fresh marketing content for social media. And two, Sandals has so much to offer you really don’t need to leave ha-ha-ha. They had endless food and drink options, there was also entertainment every night. Wither it was watching someone play music on the deck or watching extremely drunk people wander around till 2 am (aka us and some new friends we made) they have plenty to do!

Being in those villas, we were really spoiled and had our own personal butler to handle our every need. Every villa gets their own, we had Kevin and Kristoff, seriously two of the nicest people I have met. They took care of everything we ever needed, plus so much more! So, I felt no need to leave this place. We had impeccable service, endless food and drinks, and a beautiful room. What more could you ask for?

I would highly recommend this place to anything thinking about going to Jamaica, it was perfect. You will create some of the best memories here with whomever you bring, plus the people you will meet here. We met so many fun and amazing people that we will remember forever, plus maybe a hangover or two that we won’t forget.

It’s a place of pure joy and trust me mon, everything little thing will be alriiight.

I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve listed a few things you need to try while staying at Sandals. Number 6 is crucial.

1. Jerk Chicken, you just have too.

2. All the Bob Marley, Jamaica colored drinks. I mean, it’s Jamaica.

3. All the restaurants, but specifically Neptunes. They had the best seafood and authentic Jamaican food.

4. The over the water bar, called Latitude. This is the place to be a sunset!

5. Cafe De Paris, this is the spot for all the late night sugar treats, it even looks like a cute cafe in Paris, not like I’ve been but that’s what I think they look like ha-ha-ha

6. Finding a chair, sitting your but in it and relaxing. This place has you covered.

This drink is called the Bob Marley, you have to order at least one while you are here. (or more, no one is counting)

Jerk Chicken, is a M U S T. This is what Jamaica is known for!

Not sure how much shrimp I ate here, but Im pretty sure its equal to my body weight.

The Bob Marley, in shot form. Thats a must as well.

Berlin, Germany

One thing I love about having a blog is that I get to upload as many photos of the same place and same outfit and I won’t lose followers, hah yay!

I feel like it’s annoying when I go somewhere and have like 10 million photos to post but only post 5 because the others are basically all the same, with the same outfit, so I have to pick the most different photos out of them all, which usually only ends up being like 5-6 photos.

Thanks a lot, Instagram.

At least here you can see the full gallery of our Germany Trip, even the ones I won’t post on Instagram.

I wasn’t expecting much of Germany, all I could think of was really tall German people and I was going to be the shrimpy short American Girl.

However, on the other hand, I was excited to see all the history that has happened over the years.I am a real big fan of history, that was always one of my favorite classes through high school and college. Unlike math you never had to make sure it was right, or solve something, it was just facts and pure amazement to me.

The History alone was enough for me to love Germany. I didn’t think I would just overall fall in love with it. Berlin is so peaceful and serene. If I could switch my language from English to German I’d be gone in a second (even though they speak English and German is a harsh sounding language, I still would need to understand things.)

I also love Germany because unlike another countryyyyyyy (ENGLAND, I’m talking to you!) They let me in and didn’t send me all the way back home the next morning. (yes, for real)

I ALSO love them because you can drink wine at any hour and at any place – I.E the street, the train, anywhere you please.

There are a few things I recommend doing while there.

1. Falafels – google them, try them, thank me.

2. Buy Wine (or beer, but you guys know I love wine) Sit on the grass by the canals and just enjoy life for a second.

3. Try to listen to someone’s conversation and figure out if they are genuinely mad at each other or if they are just talking.

4. Eat the Schnitzel

5. Visit the Memorial of the Murdered Jews. Just sit there and have a moment.

6. Get in the background of as many photos as you can at the Brandenburg Gate, it gets packed idk how we got so lucky to have very few photos.

7. Wear comfy walking shoes.

8. Bring half German boyfriend so he can pretend like he speaks German and make him try to find everything because you don’t know any German and answer everyone in Spanish.

9. Drink all the Beer

10. Visit Berlin Wall- touch every part of it. Then just take a moment there too.

11. Eat all the Carbs, all of them.

12. And finally, just enjoy the fact that you are lucky enough to travel so far and be in the presence of something new.

So far I have been pretty lucky with traveling and I wouldn’t change that for anything!

p.s you can drink in the streets. Like a classier version of Las Vegas.
